Celebrating a Legacy of Service

Distinguished Career and Heart for Service

Mr. Jimmie Ray devoted nearly four decades to public service through distinguished leadership in Waxahachie ISD and steadfast commitment to the citizens of Ellis County.

Over the course of his career with Waxahachie Independent School District, Mr. Ray served in a variety of impactful roles that reflect both his versatility and his steadfast dedication to students and staff. He began as a Teacher and Coach at Turner High School and later at Waxahachie High School, where he helped shape student success in the classroom and beyond. His leadership continued as Assistant Principal at Waxahachie High School and Principal at Northside Elementary, positions in which he upheld high expectations while fostering a supportive, student-centered culture.

In addition to his service within the district, Mr. Ray answered a broader call to public duty as Ellis County Constable for Precinct 3. In this way, he continued to serve the community for more than 11 years, approaching his responsibilities with the same integrity, professionalism, and steady leadership that defined his work in education. His commitment to safety, accountability, and respectful service strengthened public trust and reinforced the values he modeled throughout his career.hr

Whether guiding a campus, supporting students through homebound services, or serving as Attendance Officer, Mr. Ray consistently demonstrated an unwavering devotion to doing what was right and what was needed. His years of service have left a lasting legacy—one measured not only in titles held, but in lives influenced and a community strengthened through his example.
