Veteran educator Rachel Rector serves as the principal of Jimmie Ray Elementary, the district’s newest elementary school, which opened in August 2024. Before this appointment, Ms. Rector was principal at Eastridge Elementary School in Red Oak ISD and held assistant principal positions at Simpson Elementary and Northside Elementary within Waxahachie ISD. Her earlier experience includes nearly ten years with WISD as an academic interventionist and classroom teacher at Clift Elementary, as well as six years of teaching at Mansfield ISD.

I grew up in Mansfield, where I graduated from Mansfield High School in 2011. I attended the University of Evansville and received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with minors in Reading and English as a Second Language in 2014. I then attended Indiana University and graduated with my Master's in Educational Leadership with a Certificate of Law. I began my teaching career in Evansville, Indiana, after college, and taught for two years before moving back to Texas. After moving back to Texas, I taught third and fourth grade at Mansfield ISD. I graduated from Baylor University with my Doctoral Degree in Learning and Organizational Change in 2022. I was previously an Assistant Principal at Mansfield ISD for a year before moving to Waxahachie ISD to serve as the Assistant Principal at Jimmie Ray Elementary.
