Principal
Rachel Rector, M.Ed.
Veteran educator Rachel Rector is the proud principal of the district’s newest elementary school, Jimmie Ray Elementary, which opened in August 2024.
Before assuming the principal position at Ray Elementary, Ms. Rector served as the principal of Eastridge Elementary School in Red Oak ISD, as well as an assistant principal at Simpson Elementary and Northside Elementary in Waxahachie ISD. Before her roles in administration, she served WISD for almost 10 years as an academic interventionist and in the classroom at Clift Elementary. Ms. Rector also taught at Mansfield ISD for six years.

Assistant Principal
Dr. Beth Thornton
I grew up in Mansfield, where I graduated from Mansfield High School in 2011. I attended the University of Evansville and received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with minors in Reading and English as a Second Language in 2014. I then attended Indiana University and graduated with my Master's in Educational Leadership with a Certificate of Law. I began my teaching career in Evansville, Indiana, after college, and taught for two years before moving back to Texas. After moving back to Texas, I taught third and fourth grade at Mansfield ISD. I graduated from Baylor University with my Doctoral Degree in Learning and Organizational Change in 2022. I was previously an Assistant Principal at Mansfield ISD for a year before moving to Waxahachie ISD to serve as the Assistant Principal at Jimmie Ray Elementary.
